On April 12, 2025, MCV Law attorney Alicia L. Loomis presented a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar titled "Creating Inclusive Spaces for LGBTQ+ Clients" at the New York Injured Workers’ Bar Association’s Spring CLE Conference in Buffalo, NY.
This presentation offered participants a foundational understanding of LGBTQ+ identities, covering gender identity, gender expression, and current terminology. Alicia also shared practical, approachable steps that attorneys can take to ensure their offices and practices are welcoming to LGBTQ+ clients.
Topics ranged from inclusive intake procedures and thoughtful language choices to navigating sensitive legal discussions with empathy and professionalism. Attendees left with concrete tools to better support their LGBTQ+ clients and uphold a higher standard of inclusion and respect in legal practice.
Alicia is the Vice President of the Central New York Women’s Bar Association and a member of the LGBTQ+ Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
At MCV Law, we are proud of Alicia’s continued leadership and commitment to creating more inclusive spaces within the legal community.
